Holiday season is upon us here in Canada and along with it, all of the preparation to spend time with friends and family. Cooking, baking, decorating. It can be a lot of work but I can help make it easier.
My mom LOVES to bake at Christmas time and everyone that gets her baking LOVES that she shares so much. She is currently on a long vacation and not getting back until mid-November which is much later than she normally starts her baking (think September). And when I say bake, I don’t mean a few dozen cookies. Last year, she estimated that she made about 3000!!!
So, this is where I come in. Since she is limited in her time to bake this year, I’m at my parent’s house while they are away to reset and reorganize so that she can get started as soon as she recovers from the jet lag. This is making sure her baking pantry is restocked, clean and organized as well as the rest of the house so that when it comes time to decorate for Christmas, she also can just put the items out and not have to clear off spaces or spend time moving items that don’t belong. She will be ready to go and it will shave hours off the prep and set up time. For me, I love to decorate at Christmas as well but it can be a lot more “stuff” for my brain to deal with in regards to visual clutter so it is imperative that anything else not needed is gone.
