Moving preparation and kitchen organization

For this job, I was recommended to the client by their real estate agent. The client was getting ready to list their home and needed some help before any listing photos or open houses could take place. This kitchen organization cleared up the counters and decluttered items that the client knew weren’t needed. Please, please, please, I BEG you, to declutter before you move. Do not move items that you don’t need. Get them out beforehand and start off in your new space with only the things you use. It can be a true fresh start.

Kitchen with cluttered counters. It feels dark and small.

In this case, I checked all of the pantry items for best before dates, decluttered and donated extra pots and pans, cooking utensils and kitchen gadgets. When selling your home, it’s important to show off any storage you have so all the cupboards were emptied out, wiped down, and then organized in a way that amplified the space. This means that items are stacked nicely and there is plenty of space between items so it doesn’t look to potential buyers like they will need to shove their belongings into the cupboards. Also, pre-pack any items you know you need for a while (ex. pack up the Christmas dishes if you are listing your home in the Spring). Get a jump start to make it easier when you do sell!

A clean kitchen. Bright and airy feeling. Ready for an open house.

Another important thing to remember is that you will probably need to still live in your home while it’s for sale. I can help make it easy for you to continue to live your life but also easy to quickly get ready for a last minute showing.
